At this Writers’ Night, we’ll be joined by Joanna Nadin, award-winning author of over 80 books, including The Talk of Pram Town (2021) and the bestselling Rachel Riley Diaries series, as we discuss making a career as a writer in a digital world. Joanna co-wrote the Flying Fergus series with Sir Chris Hoy and has been a Richard and Judy Book Club pick. She’ll be sharing her writing journey and experiences writing novels for both children and adults, as well as tips on working across different genres, developing your writing and getting published.

Whether you want to turn writing into a career, or are looking for some practical tips to make your stories shine, this Writers’ Night will give you an insight into the writing world and an opportunity to ask any burning questions.

More about Joanna:

A former broadcast journalist and special adviser to the Prime Minister, since leaving politics Joanna Nadin has written more than eighty books for children and adults, including the Flying Fergus series with Sir Chris Hoy, the Carnegie-nominated Joe All Alone, which is now a BAFTA-winning BBC drama, and the critically acclaimed The Queen of Bloody Everything. She’s been shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and Queen of Teen amongst numerous other awards, and been a Richard and Judy Book Club pick. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing and lectures in the subject at Bristol University. The Talk of Pram Town is her second novel for adults.
